American actor Miles Alexander Teller was born on February 20, 1987. Teller grew up in Pennsylvania and Delaware before his family relocated to Citrus County, Florida when Teller was twelve years old. Teller was involved in acting as a child, was president of his high school’s drama club, and also played alto saxophone, drums, piano, and guitar. Teller also played competitive baseball and aspired to be a professional. In Lecanto, Florida, Teller graduated from Lecanto High School.

Following that, Teller enrolled in the New York University Tisch School of the Arts, where he studied method acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and screen acting at Stonestreet Studios. In 2009, he received a BFA in drama. Teller was a passenger in a car that flipped eight times while traveling at 80 mph (130 km/h). The crash left him with numerous scars on his face.
